Welcome to The Color Tool, where color combinations are displayed. By taking a quick glance at our home page, you will see that our site is dedicated to the display of color. Presently, our member’s site offers 22 color palette options to choose from. So, what does that mean? In a nutshell, you can quickly and easily display all of the available color combinations with all of the color palettes named on this page. You can experiment all day long with the web safe colors palette, as we presently offer three free sample color pages, which enable you to view all of the color combinations available in the web safe colors palette. Subscribers to The Color Tool can mix and match all of the color palettes within our site on one page or separately. We also have great font tools, which enable you to gauge if a certain color combination is legible or not through displaying various background and foreground color schemes, font types and font sizes.

Our color tools and font tools (collectively referred to as hex color code tools or html color code tools) are a luxury, based on their simplicity and ease of use. What our subscriber’s site offers is a lightening fast, fun and easy way to find preferred color combinations. Whether you are seeking your preferred web site color scheme, colors for a painting project, color combinations for your home, a new color for your car, a new hair color, whether you are an avid creative design professional, student or teacher, The Color Tool can help you with your graphic design projects.

Our site is being optimized every day with new content, faster load times, improved designs on our color pages and higher image quality to our color palette displays. It is not that difficult to work on a thing so broad as color. As such, we are working hard and with great enthusiasm and effort to provide the ultimate color tools online. Our future will involve expanding into other areas where the display pleasing color combinations is crucial. To name a few broad topics, we will be expanding our color tools to include extensions and options for those seeking to change their hair color, car color, home color and obviously those seeking to improve their web site color schemes. Now that the words color scheme have been mentioned, get busy and find your perfect web site color scheme using the web safe colors palette.

To determine the hex color code for each of the colors in our sample pages, simply hover your mouse over the color and the hex color code value will appear in a tool tip. Various color palettes have different methods of expressing their color values, but all of the color palette options displayed within our site can be expressed with a hex color code. The hex color code is what is used in web site design to tell a browser how to display various font and background elements on a web page. As such, hex color code is used within html color code. Better yet is CSS, which stands for Creative Style Sheets, which are relatively tiny sized files that tell a browser how to display the font, links, background color and other style elements on a page. An entire web site design can be changed quickly and easily with the use of creative style sheets.

The Color Tool works by changing style sheet elements on the fly, based on the html tags and element ID’s within our color pages. Complex JavaScript language and other files are also used to accomplish the virtually instant color and style changes that are enabled on our web site. The term ‘on the fly’ in the web site design sense, refers to the action of changing style elements virtually immediately and usually at the users own prompt. We will be including more content about css sometime soon.

An important topic we would like to mention is that of your computer monitor’s screen resolution. In the event you don’t know how to change screen resolution, we have included a downloadable and printable document on our site, aptly named “change screen resolution”. To view our web site best, you should have your screen resolution set to at least 1024x768 or higher, if possible. We discuss this further on this page and on our tips page, which provides helpful suggestions to optimize your experience at our site and on the internet in general. If you don't know how to change screen resolution, be sure to click the button below to learn how to change screen resolution and improve your experience at our site and on the internet.

One more note for web site designers and computer graphic designers is that The Color Tool offers free code.
