Web Safe Colors

New → Web Safe Colors Palette Page

The Color Tool offers five plus free samples that display how our html color code, font tools and color combination tools work using the Web Safe Colors Palette. You can find these examples on our home page and within other pages listed in the menu above in the right section that reads, "Free".

The Web Safe Colors palette contains 216 colors arranged in 16 columns and 14 rows, wherein the last row contains eight colors. The Web Safe Colors palette is named as such because the 216 colors it comprises will be displayed properly, without any dithering, on all computer monitors that are able to display 216 colors. Most modern monitors are capable of displaying millions of colors, but older monitors are not. Thus, if your design requires that each and every viewer see your project as you intended for it to be seen, the safest color palette to use is the Web Safe Colors palette.

The subscribers version of the Web Safe Colors palette page, as previewed below, contains the Web Safe Colors palette on the left, which changes the background colors on the fly, simply by clicking your mouse on a color. On the right, you will find another Web Safe Colors palette, which changes the font colors, again, simply by clicking your mouse over any of the colors on the right palette.

Similar to all subscriber pages that contain color changing options, the Web Safe Colors palette page also contains buttons to change the font size and the font type on the fly. These additional buttons offer several unique viewing options to assist you in choosing your preferred color combinations for your design project, whether it be for the web, for a print design and/or another type of design project.
