HTML color code, font tools and color combinations with the Web Named Colors palette are available to Subscribers to The Color Tool. The Web Named Colors palette contains 140 colors arranged in 9 rows and 16 columns, wherein the last row contains twelve colors. The Color Tool has a few favorite colors found in the Web Named Colors palette, which are LightSteelBlue (hex value = B0C4DE), GhostWhite (hex value = F8F8FF) and WhiteSmoke (hex value = F5F5F5). However, there are a several other attractive, interesting and useful colors within the Web Named Colors palette, such as DarkOrchid (hex value = 9932CC).

Unlike the majority of the color palettes, the Web Named Colors palette has color names that include hex (hexadecimal) values, as well as actual color names, as is displayed in the preceding paragraph. The color names with multiple words are combined with capital letters, i.e., DarkOliveGreen (hex value = 556B2F) and SkyBlue (hex value = 87CEEB) and LightGoldenrodYellow (hex value = FAFAD2). In order for the web browsers to display these colors, you can use either the color name or the hex value in the code of the page. The Web Named Colors palette is the only palette that enables browsers to display all of its colors using color names, instead of hex values. Switch back to the default White background and Black font color.

To determine the hex value, as well as the color name of the colors in the Web Named Colors palette at The Color Tool, all you need to do is hover your mouse over any of the colors and the hex value and the color name will be displayed in a tool tip. The subscribers version of the Web Named Colors palette page, as previewed below, contains the Web Named Colors palette on the left, which changes the background colors on the fly, simply by clicking your mouse on a color. On the right, you will find another Web Named Colors palette, which changes the font colors, again, simply by clicking your mouse over any of the colors on the right palette. As well, similar to all subscriber pages that contain color changing options, the Web Named Colors palette page contains buttons to change the font size and the font type on the fly. These additional buttons offer several unique viewing options to assist you in choosing your preferred color combinations for your design project.
