Change Fonts is a web page dedicated to viewing hundreds of different font variations. You can change fonts on the fly and experiment with 171 different Font Types, 54 different Font Sizes and make changes to the Cursor Styles. The font menu on the top left will enable you to change fonts on the page instantly to 171 different font types. As there is 171 different fonts listed in the font menu, please note for the font change to take effect, the specific font type you are choosing must be installed on your computer in order to view the font change effect. Only some of the fonts in this menu are web friendly fonts, so you should be careful where and how you choose to use these font types. Most of the font types in the font menu on the top left are specialty font and will work best in multimedia files, such as Flash and QuickTime or image files, such as jpg, gif or png files. You can choose to use these specialty fonts on the web, however, viewers of your web page or web site without the specialty font installed on their computer will not see what you intended them to see. This can be overcome though, by using these specialty fonts in multimedia files, such as those listed above. The menu on the top right will enable you to change fonts amongst 54 different font sizes. This bar is very user friendly, as it contains fonts in the web safe font families and will therefore work every time. Web Safe Font Families can be broken down into these general categories: Monospace Set, which includes Courier New, Courier, Monaco and monospace; serif set, which includes Georgia, Time New Roman, Times and serif; Helvetica Set, which includes Helvetica, Geneva, Arial, SunSans-Regular and sans-serif, Trebuchet Set, which includes Trebuchet MS, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, SunSans-Regular, sans-serif, Verdana Set, which includes Verdana, Arial, Helvetica and sans-serif, Cursive Set, which includes Zapf Chancery, Comic Sans MS and cursive. If one is designing a web page or a web site, it is wise to use fonts from the web safe font families. By doing so, you will ensure that everyone will view what you, the web designer intended them to view. The font types in the font menu on the left should be reserved for print media, word processing documents and multimedia files. You can use the specialty fonts on the web, but you should include 1, 2 or 3 backup fonts in your css file or define them in the head of your page, in the event that viewers of your web page or web site don’t have the specialty font installed on their computer. The Change Cursor Styles menu enables you to change the cursor style to the 15 different cursor styles, so you can see what will work best with your web page or web site design. The different Cursor Styles include: crosshair, text, wait, default, help, e-resize, ne-resize, n-resize, nw-resize, w-resize, sw-resize, s-resize, auto, move and pointer. Pointer is amongst the most popular and widely used cursor styles. |
